File your taxes for free

February 14, 2008

I came across this little gem, I-CAN!™ E-file, on my local news channel the other night. It’s a .org in case you are curious.

On the site’s homepage
I-CAN!™ E-file can help you file your taxes for FREE. There is no income limit to use I-CAN!™ E-file. Just answer simple questions on each screen and print your completed tax return. I-CAN!™ E-file can also e-file (electronically file) your return to the IRS (and your state if applicable).

You can use I-CAN!™ E-file to file your Federal and state return if you lived and worked all year in one of the following states: California, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania or Montana.

I haven’t used it myself (I use a CPA otherwise I would definitely try it) so I can’t vouch for it but it seems like a legit free non-profit service.

Another free service, TurboTax Online, is available for StateFarm.com® registered customers who have at least one product (Bank, Insurance and/or Mutual Funds) displaying on their My Account page.

If you used either service, leave a comment on here and share your experience.

If you like the blog, please link to my blog, subscribe to the feed, and leave your comments, I love hearing from my readers.

Unless stated otherwise, I am not affiliated with products, companies, or services referred to in my blogs.
