Recently I came across a couple ways to grab nice images for your desktop…
-
WallpaperFlickr
WallpaperFlickr will download wallpapers from Flickr and rotate them per your settings, the default is every 2 hours but I like to enjoy my desktop, so I set mine to daily. You can specify tags or a Flickr username to find only the wallpapers you want but the defaults work pretty well for me. If you don’t like the picture, just tell it to get a new wallpaper. If you want the program to autostart when the computer is restarted, just add it to the Startup folder. Oh and it’s free.
- Social Wallpapering
This is a site with high quality pictures for your desktop. There are recently added pictures right on the home page. You should definitely check out the most popular pictures. If you mouse over a picture, you will get some details (like dimensions, artist) about the picture. To grab a picture, just click on it to launch the picture, right click on the picture and select “Set as desktop background” to enjoy it. And yes, it’s also free, what more can one ask for.
Here’s an example of the images (click to enlarge) on today’s home page.
